Launched in 1996, Circle of Sisters is the 15th largest annual event in NYC and #1 for people of color. I filmed the story of 2 vendors and Keisha Sutton-James shares the story of WBLS, Circle of Sisters and what WBLS stands for. “Being in this business I realize it is apart of our family creed, part of what we have grown up to do to learn to do..is to be impactful to our community.” Keisha Sutton-James, VP-WBLS.

 I along with millions of Americans have grown up “Fatherless”. And today 40% of American children live in a fatherless home raised by single mothers, aunts, grandmothers and other female caregivers. Kobie Brown’s 2012 film From Fatherless To Fatherhood explores the causes, effects and possible solutions to turning the corner on father absence. We met at Central Park for an unscripted, insightful conversation about the inspiration for the film, his family story and his goals. I love and support what Kobie is doing, solutions through dialogue.

ARTCRAWL HARLEM: A Trolley-Bus Art Guide Across East Harlem (WBLS.Com)

A Sunday morning trolley-bus art tour through East harlem. ArtCrawl Harlem™ is a guided trolley tour of local galleries. Participants visit 5-7 Harlem art galleries and receive a 20-30 minute “tour within a tour” at each site. Here are 3 spaces I visited: Media Noche addresses the oil spill, HipHop hall of Fame @Studio 176 & James De La Vega’s mural of renowned Nuyorican poet and playwright Pedro Pietri is a community mainstay on the side of the East Harlem Café at Lexington Avenue & 104th Street.
